Christians have asked, worried, and fretted over this question for two thousand years. Many are impatient and ready to march right out to serve God. But, how? Here’s some insight into God’s answer.
Amazing Grays, Amazing Grace, the foundational book of our message, our ministry, and Christian Horse Training is FREE today and tomorrow in Kindle format. [Offer good October 7 and 8, 2013.] Please take advantage of this offer and share it with friends in Bible Study, the barn, at school, at work, and with family members.
As important as it is to share our message, Amazing Grays Ministry seldom offers books for free. No other horse-related title has EVER been offered for free until today. Books are provided to certain ministries at less than cover price as the Spirit leads, but today you can get your own by investing nothing more than a couple of mouse clicks.
It is not possible to have the same simple relationship with another person you can with a horse. Few people have enough insight and wisdom to objectively evaluate their own thoughts, actions, and motivation much less those of someone else. As soon as two or more people enter into a relationship blender it starts getting a little messy.
The use of horses in ministry, physical and emotional therapy, leadership training, rehabilitation of body, spirit, and soul is exploding because – face it – there’s nothing like a horse.
Team building begins the instant you add a third party to any leader-follower mix. Teams always have a leader, whether elected, appointed, or by acclaim. Teams are most successful when each member has faith in the leader, understands the position he or she plays on the team, and has confidence that every other member of the team feels the same way.
If you measured the success of Jesus’ earthly ministry using a worldly yardstick it was a colossal failure. To some Jesus was just that guy from Nazareth, and you know, nothing good comes from Nazareth [John 1:46]. The folks with the power and opinions that “mattered” during His ministry were not impressed as much as they were annoyed. Efforts to upset the balance of power are never appreciated by those who presently wield it.
Humans are amazingly consistent when it comes to issues of ego, greed, and power. Horses, on the other hand, are amazingly consistent when it comes to matters of leadership and relationship. Our work to earn worthy leadership status with horses is a work of every day, not something that it is possible to master and retain. The only way to achieve success is to risk being a failure in the eyes of a world that elevates fifteen minutes of You-Tube fame over the life of an unborn child.
Using an obstacle course with horses and folks illustrates Paul’s message that tribulation leads to perseverance, then to character, and then to glory!
“When prayer goes unanswered,… You will find there is a reason which is a deep instruction to you.” – Oswald Chambers
Unanswered prayer is frequently a precious gift in disguise. Why do unanswered prayers go hand-in-hand with a call to serve God in ministry?
Do you wonder what God expects from you? Do you pray for guidance? Are you unsure of what God wants you to do? The answers can be found in our relationship with horses. God wants the same 3 things from me that I want from my horse.
Common wisdom would have you believe that the larger your “posse” the better your message. This is a prime example of where common wisdom and truth diverge for Christians. Writers seek readers. Speakers seek an audience. Pastors seek congregants. Marketers seek to convert inquiries into sales. Television shows seek viewers. Websites seek visitors. The common wisdom of the world challenges you to shape your message to gain the most popularity.
Pastor Dave at Brazos Trails Cowboy Church invited Amazing Grays Ministry to share a message recently. We were grateful for the opportunity and the very warm welcome we received. To be perfectly honest, this was the first time we spoke during an actual church service. We’ve been to churches, taken Bo (one of the amazing grays) […]
